I am sure there are all kinds of conspiracy theories but I believe the stupidest reason is the the most likely:

Police force is lacking in skill and spends too much time acting for TRT. You see those videos where they arrest the suspects and so on? Like the Istanbul bombing?Maybe they don't have funding or there's too much for them to deal with as well. I mean there's millions of people entering the country, but acting for TRT as well.

Police go in apprehend the suspect, then go out, start again with the cameras rolling to produce something "cool" for the voters. Fahrettin ran a whole campaign about TR being "strong".

The heavy involvement with government and ministry of communications likely also means anything that makes government politics look bad is ignored, downplayed and the police officers are dismissed or reassigned.

I’m not kidding. I wish I was, but akkuyu is not just a powerplant. Some things needs clearence beyond presidency. Failure to do so is detriment to us all. Might as well let the most corrupt people on the planet work on akkuyu.

Truthfully we are pretty screwed because inept people are governing our nation of people who’re jumping ship and taking shortcuts whenever they can because of greed. The few good are struggling against all of this.

Akkuyu is a small part of the fails of the Turkish security system.
