What is dauntless or fearless in Turkish though?

Should go with TF.

AK will just cause some confusion with Russian firearms etc.
We could use SU code if Russians were not using it. Savaş Uçağı (Fighter Aircraft)

Should go with S "Savaşcı" (Means fighter in Turkish) or F. I dont see Americans named their aircraft AF (American Figther).
TS-61
I like it!
😁

Well in Arabic, İstikbal means a reception, or to greet or welcome someone. Could also mean to download something.

Yepp. I can see Arabs coming out to "welcome" it into their inventories.

In the west it would probably be translated as:

TF-23 Stealth Downloader

sorry, couldnt resist.

Yes, Istikbal (استقبال) means Reception but it also means FUTURE. (المستقبل)

We should have named our planes basicly EU(Eğitim uçak, and U(Uçak) and numbers for their maiden flight date. They can have nicknames like hürkuş, hürjet, anadolu kartalı, istikbal whatever

Hürkuş (EU-13)
Hürjet (EU-23)
MMU (U-24)

Just like when you know something start with f (fighter) you know its american same would be for turkish (uçak)

Same we should have for drones

IHA-13, IHA-22 and SIHA24 or smth you cant force private companies to do this but TAF can do this for its own inventory for turkish products.

Easier to have your brand, and more analytical easy aspect. All the planes or platforms can have their nicknames beside that assigned by their producers anyways.

We have so many products and dont have a proper coding method. HISAR and SIPER for example does not make sense SIPER block 1 should have been named HISAR. To me they should have names HSS-15, HSS-50 or smth as they are Hava Savunma Sistemi.
Same for Gökdoğan- bozdoğan etc they can easily be named HHF-120 or HHF-10 etc (Hava-Hava füzesi)
For munitions it is even worse we have so many different now its hard to keep up...

Main point of TF-X was INDEPENDENCE from superpowers like USA, Russia, China.

Istikbal (The Future) name is not bad either but ISTIKLAL means Independence, Freedom, Liberty. The "priceless" thing all non-superpower nations like us desperately want & need.

Independence Fighter (İstiklal Savaşçısı) has a much better ring to it than Future Fighter which is a cliche in English language.

that is Al Mustaqbil which is a similar but different word. I mean, this is the pinnacle of technological achievement for the country. Surely they could up with a better name for it than "Reception" or "Future"!!

Don't call it TF, I'm gonna lose my mind. Just because Koreans have called it KF doens't mean you have to do the same.

Al Istikbal and Al Mustaqbal (not Mustakbil) can be used as synonyms.

However, i agree this 'Future' sounds somewhat off.

Actually "Istikbal" is indeed a good choice with a deep meaning, derived from Ataturk's famous words: İstikbal göklerdedir

From the point of meaning I like this name but I also concur with the views of others that it is a difficult pronunciation for non-Turks

I don't like the name, especially not the TF-23 moniker, but Istikbal is good enough. It's non divisive, references Atatürk, it's something everyone can relate to, pronunciation for non Turkish users is pretty easy as it's an Arabic word. It's fine.
