A bit late but better late than never! Congratulations to Indonesia for the procurement of two scorpene submarines that will be produced in Indonesia! Do we know what Indonesia paid for these two submarines? Do we know what kind of technology transfer that took place?

Awesome deal, even if Scorpene seems to be very expensive I guess it's worth spending a good amount of more money on the Scorpene since it will involve more industrial cooperation. The most important is that the technology transfer is extensive and valuable. This seems to be the case regarding the deal.View attachment 68032

With more countries going with Li ion battery submarines are AIPs still necessary? From what I can remember the Japanese switched to Li ion because AIPs don't give enough power for high speed maneuvers so they didn't think the extra endurance from AIP was tactically useful.
