Original presentation (gonna go watch it later myself):

This is interesting...I wonder if MLM is being considered in place of MOM-2 or sometime after it? MOM-2 is relatively uncomplicated in comparison to this:

Sky-crane deployment for the rover

What's budget of Chandrayaan-4?

Not public yet AFAIK.

No idea yet....but it looks to be at least (end-end) twice to thrice the total hardware, manhours, capital time etc... of CY-3.

i.e essentially two launches combining into one mission with a whole lot of extras governing this too.

So I would say we can estimate somewhere in ballpark of that being the multiplier for the cost too.

Officially CY-3 was about 100 million USD. So maybe CY-4 ends up being maybe 2 - 3 times that officially. We will have to see though.

Smallest budget of all(other countries)with the best outcome,i would say.

Perhaps...I think LVM3 should be able accommodate something the mass of the MSL/Curiosity. Might take too long to get there though.

Remember what I said about the "inducted" current in the loop (from another loop close to it).

That's exactly whats happened long term between the large missile program (IGMP) and ISRO.

So a lot of funding is found tabulated in the other loop and ISRO didnt have to re-invent the wheel from scratch.

This is what saved costs long term in official ISRO (essentially its a bit like what part of iceberg sticks above surface).

Its why as early as possible is so important (so you dont have all the starting friction costs today and you have long term leverage from what parallel loops have funded already).....you see it with Turkiye where its successful in various aerospace sectors as well.
